The Enterprise edition can have up to 64 processors and 256 cores. PowerPivot for Excel—PowerPivot is one of the biggest upgrades in Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2. In fact, it has remained ever since one of the most powerful tools available on the SQL Server. It works through Excel to provide users with incredible analysis tools. With built-in compression, PowerPivot can work almost instantaneously, even when it is calculating over millions of rows of data.
